Wey - Hey cleared a four inch pile of paperwork this morning, boy do I feel better!
Whilst working I am ploughing through over 50 cassettes which are all recording programmes from our [hospital radio] Christmas Broadcasts. We have an Annual Quiz & Awards Evening where we present best shows etc. the biggest award is always 'The Best Xmas Show'and I am one of the judges.
This morning listened to show with such a simple format but it really worked and had an amazingly eclectic playlist as a result of the format. The presenter took the words CHRISTMAS MUSIC and then played an asociated track and chatted amongst them reagrding the word/s she had picked. Here's the playlist:
C for Candle - Light A Candle/Daniel O’Donnel
H Holidays [thinking of them over Xmas]- Summer Holiday Cliff Richard
R Romance [stealing a kiss under the mistleoe] Love & Affection/Joan Armatrading
I Icy - Hazy Shade of Winter/Bangles
S Snowbird/Ann Murray
T Tinsel - Tinsel Town in the Rain/The Blue Nile
M Messiah/Handel
A Angels/Robbie Williams
S Solstice - The Holly & the Ivy/Choir of St Pauls Cathedral
M [chosen as My Music, this Cd was an Xmas gift] Tourin’ Brakes/Fishing for a Dream
U Unwrapping - Christmas Wrapping/the Waitresses
S Star - She'A Star /James
I Infants/Zippadee Doo Dah/Song of the South
C Carol - Good King Wenceslas/St Paul Cathedral Choir
Really enjoyed it. Another was a folk programme called Gentle Folk featuring the most amazing track by Shelagh McDonal called Stargazer [cause I've bought it and am now listening to CD 2 as I write]!
