Haven't been able to blog since my arrival in Africa as it's horrendously expensive and you pay for 20 mins at a time so as soon as I have checked by emails and sent news home - there's been no time left.
Have a 5 hour stopover in Nairobi before flying to Heathrow leaving at midnight and landing at 6.25am! Paid a few dollars to sit in a First Class Lounge [only whish I was flying First Class] and hey ho - free internet.
My 2 weeks in East African have been phenominal if somewhat exhausting. Spent the first week in Tanzania on safari and we saw the BIG five - leopard, lion, elephant, giraffe and the elusive rhino. Was amazed ay how close to the jeeps they come and it's because they are so use to them. The Serengeti is vast, as soon as you reach one horizon, another appears.
Then onto Zanzibar for 5 days. Way too hot but managed to chill a little. How about this for noise abuse [see previous blog on this] - you are in a jeep, 7.30am in the morning, the sun is still rising and the sky is magnificent. Then you driver and ranger put a tape on of African Hip Hop and loudly!! So, so out of place that we asked him to turn it down, he turned it off and never played it again.
Have more 'bits' I want to post so will return after the jet lag has abated and I am safe on home ground.
