Single Spin No 7

by topofthestairs @ 30 May. 2006 - 13:13:11

Whizzed through 28 tracks yesterday in my series of Single Spin programmes on hospital radio. This is my attempt to play the entire station's vinyl single collection which is at about 3,000! makes for an extremely ecletic playlist as I am playing them in the order they come out of the cabinets:-

Save The Last Dance For Me/Rikki Henderson
Love Is Like A Violin/Ken Dodd
Help!/The Beatles
Home Lovin'/Man Andy Williams
Happy Anniversary/Slim Whitman
Mightrider/ELO
Roulette'Russ Conway
The House That Jack Built/Alan Price Set
Slippin' & Slidin'/Buddy Holly
Last Night In Soho/Dave, Dee, Dozy, …..
Change/Lisa Stansfield
Crazy/Seal
I Should Have Known Better/The Naturals
I Didn't Know I Loved You/Gary Glitter
Little Sister/Elvis Presley
How Can I Be Sure/The Young Rascals
Hello Dolly/Kenny Ball
The Happy Whistler/Don Robertson
A Hard Day's Night/The Beatles
Heart Of Gold/Neil Young
Hey Girl Don't Bother Me/The Tam
Hello Marylou Goodbye Heart/Ricky Nelson Pitney wrote
Honey/Bobby Goldsboro
Halfway To Paradise/Billy Fury
The Combine Harvester/The Wurzels
Theme from Z-Cars/Johnny Keating Orchestra
Ticket To Ride/The Beatles
Those Were The Days/Mary Hopkins

Cool to hear the Beatles early tunes again and Heart of Gold. ken Dodd and The Happy Whistler tracks - not so cool.

How did you get involved with hospital radio and do they have a rigid playlist ?
